Faux Finishing

“From Innovation to Renovation”

Faux finishing is an ancient Roman art that creates a variety of illusions through the act of painting.  Today, only select artisans such as Artistry Walls, can replicate these Faux Finish techniques in nearly every conceivable color and pattern to custom match the decor of your home.

  • Venetian Plaster is used to create a variety of effects from a polished marble stone look to an aged hand burnished appearance.   It produces a rich look ideal for Focal Points, columns, or walls.
  • Ragging technique is a loose, flowing pattern.  This technique is effective in any room.
  • Fauxstone is one of the oldest types of painting.  It creates the look and feel of authentic Old World fresco plaster.
  • Fantasy Marble gives the illusion of marble.  This technique looks great on columns, walls, or furniture.
  • Sponging can be completed in three distinct styles: transparent, opaque, or flowing patterns by using a natural sea sponge.

Our Faux Finisher, Lisa Closterides, is a graduate or the American Academy of Art in Chicago, is certified by the Chicago Institute of Decorative finishes and has had the privilege of studying under Master Faux Finisher, Keith Warwic.  A true artist and perfectionist at heart she has had clients fly her to New York, New Hampshire, Florida, and even California to create masterpieces of their walls.
